Jan Fabre presents a work inspired by the trials and tribulations of the vain Prometheus.  Because he stole fire from Mount Olympus, Prometheus was chained to a rock in the Caucasus Mountains where a bird of prey ate a piece of his liver every day.  Intrigued by this pitiless punishment, Jan Fabre revisits the myth, drawing a parallel between it and Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket".  This powerful show elicits compassion and fear.

After the unforgettable "(A)pollonia", the Polish director continues his reflection on the human condition.  A talented gold and silversmith, he interlaces various works with universal themes: "The Trial" by Franz Kafka; extracts from J.M. Coetzee's novel "Elizabeth Costello"; and Bernard-Marie Koltès' screenplay project "Nickel Stuff".  Through this literary marriage, he addresses a question which has haunted mankind since the dawn of time: the mystery of the journey from life to death.  When man reaches his limits, can theatre be his salvation?

The Hanged are unbelieving men who are not content with the knowledge they have.  They put their heart and soul into research to assuage their thirst for knowledge.  Often, they pay for this curiosity with their lives.  Jan Kuijken has composed an original score played by the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia.  Josse De Pauw, with a superb recital, pays a vibrant tribute to all oppressed visionaries.

Sganarelle, who became a healer against his own will, has to treat a young girl who has been mute since her father forbade her to see her lover.  Whilst waiting for love to triumph, his white coat transforms the false doctor into a venal charlatan.  With panache, Jean-Claude Berutti blends the farcical elements with a resounding condemnation of the doctors of the time.

Just after he is found guilty, in a long letter to his judge, Charles Alavoine retraces the steps of the path which led him to murder Martine.  She was a huge breath of freedom and passion, but the leap towards a different kind of destiny can be as vital as it is destructive.  Georges Simenon wrote this tale of black demonic existentialism in which two lost souls, conscious of their descent into Hell, celebrate passion.  Franck Focketyn gives a breathtakingly honest performance.

When he was born, the stars predicted that Sigismond would overthrow his father, King Basil, and become a blood-thirsty tyrant.  In order to stop this terrible prediction from coming true, Basil imprisons his son inside a tower.  Can Sigismond overcome the brutality of his own nature?  Galin Stoev ("Oxygen" and "Genesis No 2") triumphs with his production of this Baroque play, in which the classic plot blends harmoniously with contemporary feeling.
